Around Town: Back-to-School Season

Back-to-school deals are here and Prim + Co clients have you covered. Read on to find out how a few of our clients are doing their part by preparing our students, teachers and faculty members for a successful 2022-23 school year.

Floyd’s Barbershop: Floyd’s Barbershop first opened right off Broadway in 1999 with the mission to serve everyone. Twenty-three years later, Floyd’s is still helping serve everyone across our communities in their 31 Colorado barbershops. As a back-to-school gift, Floyd’s is offering 50% off haircuts for all teachers September 12-18 as they return to the classroom. Don’t forget to bring in the kiddos for their back-to-school cuts too! Gifting Floyd’s Grooming Line products will benefit both students and teachers by leaving them feeling fresh and looking fly for this upcoming school year

Half-Fast Subs: Half-Fast Subs opened in Boulder in 1996 with a mission to serve the single best sandwich in the world. Today, the menu includes more than 130 expertly crafted subs, earning it the title of “largest sub sandwich selection in the country.” Easy to say, Half Fast knows there is always more room to grow. That spirit led the shop to open its second location this month at 649 S. College Ave., Unit B, near CSU’s main campus in Fort Collins. With students returning to campus in just a few short weeks, Half Fast Subs is the perfect spot to reconnect with friends and show off your school spirit by ordering a signature CSU or CU Boulder sandwich.

The Urban Cookie: Spread some joy in classrooms and faculty lounges this fall by bringing in cookies from The Urban Cookie! With 3, 6 and 12-Cookie Pack options, there are plenty of cookies to go around for all group sizes. Take it one step further by surprising your child at the end of their first week back with their favorite single cookie flavor like Oatmeal Cream Pie, Vegan Sugar Cookie, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Gluten-free Dipped Chocolate Macarons. While you’re at it, grab one for yourself because, let’s be honest, who’s REALLY the one who earned a cookie after the first week back.

Ensemble Music Schools: Back to school means a wave of parents looking for new, enriching after-school activities for their kids. Louisville’s Dana V Music School has put together four benefits on why Colorado parents should consider signing their kids up for music lessons – touching on social, emotional, intellectual, cultural and language skills:

  1. Studies show that young children who participate in music classes have improved speech development and learn to read more easily. Learning music helps to develop the left side of the brain (related to language and reasoning), assists with sound recognition and teaches rhythm and rhyme.
  2. Studies show people who are musically trained have better working memory skills, helping them to remember things even while their minds are busy.
  3. Research shows that listening to music increases the amount of dopamine in the brain, which can have a positive effect on mental health. This is especially important right now, as students face higher levels of stress, anxiety, and isolation.
  4. Looking ahead to college? Learning to play an instrument can improve mathematical learning and even increase SAT scores.

Urban Village Grill: When visiting Park Meadows mall in Lone Tree for your back-to-school necessities, stop in at Urban Village Grill for lunch and order their $10 Lunch Box Special. The Lunch Box Special includes Chef Mani’s famous Not Your Grandma’s Butter Chicken and Mango Lassi. Prepared with spiced, charred chicken simmered in a fenugreek sauce and a side of rice, this tasty dish and refreshing beverage is the perfect midday shopping pick-me-up for all ages to enjoy!

Wipeys: Before diving into their school lunches this year, it is imperative that our children clean their hands. According to the CDC, one of the most important steps to keeping staff and children in schools healthy is cleaning hands at key times throughout the day. Wipeys’, a line of biodegradable wet wipes made with nontoxic ingredients provides a convenient, safe option for cleaning kids’ hands and preventing more missed school days due to sickness. Wipeys’ Surface wipe, Hand wipe, Device wipe, and Face wipe come individually wrapped as single use wipes which work great for slipping into backpacks, lunch boxes and clothing for easy, accessible use anytime, anywhere this school year!
